Kedarnath Temple Committee has announced the opening date of the Kedarnath Mandir door for 2025. The temple will open from 2nd May at 7.00 am for the devotee after six month of Winter closure.

With the announce of the Kedarnath Temple Date announcement, all the Char Dham in the Garhwal Himalayas confirmed the opening Date.

Badrinath temple will open in May, while Gangotri and Yamunotri temples will open at the end of April on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.

The Kedarnath Temple, situated Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 3,583 meters in the Himalayan range near the Mandakini River. This Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds great religious significance. So. It can be say that Kedarnath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva.

According to old traditional stories, the temple was built by the Pandavas after the Kurukshetra war to seek forgiveness from Lord Shiva. The current structure was later reconstructed by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. It is believed to be over 1,000 years old.

Kedarnath Mandir remain Closed in winter season due to heavy rainfall every year and opened in April or May on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.

How to Reach Kedarnath Temple

If you are planning than you can reach the temple by Air or Trekking after reaching at Gaurikund.

After reaching Gaurikhund, the base point for the trek to Kedarnath you can get the Helicopter.

The most common way to reach Kedarnath is by trekking. The 16 km journey begins from Gaurikund. For those unable to walk, ponies, mules, and palanquins are available as alternative transport options.
