Karnataka Road Accident: A tragic incident took place this morning in Karnataka. At least 13 people lost their life in a tragic incident in Karnatakaโ€™s Chikkaballapura on Thursday morning at 7 a.m. The accident occurred when an SUV rammed into a tanker on the outskirts of the district headquarters.
All the thirteen deceased people were traveling in the SUV. Among them four were women. The vehicle was on the way to state capital, Bengaluru from Andhra Pradesh, Anantapur district. The accident happened on National High Way 44.

How Karnataka Road Accident occurred

The SUV reportedly crashed into the tanker, which was parked on the side of the highway. The reason for the crashed is said that Fog and low visibility. Police official said that all the victims were natives of Gorantla in Anantapur district and did not come from the same family.

Karnataka Chief Minister shows condolence

The Karnataka Chief Minister expressed grief over the accident. He announced an ex-gratia of 2 lakh to the victims. He said via social media, โ€œI was deeply saddened to hear the news that 13 people died in a terrible accident that happened near Chitravathi in Chikkaballapur today. I pray for the departed soul to rest in peace. The families of the unfortunate deceased will be given Rs. 2 lakh in compensation.โ€
It had been said that among the deceased, nine were men and four were women. Twelve people died on the spot and one has been injured badly and is being treated at a hospital.
“Tragic Losses on the Scene”
The accident claimed the lives of twelve individuals on the spot, with one critically injured person, who was receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, also succumbing to injuries. These victims were all traveling from Anantapur to Bengaluru when their vehicle collided with a stationary tanker, as reported by DL Nagesh, the Superintendent of Police in Chikkaballapura.

All the victims, including the SUV’s driver who tragically lost their lives in the accident, hailed from Anantapur district. While the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, the involvement of low visibility due to fog is strongly suspected and is currently subject to verification, according to a senior police officer cited by the agency.
