Karimganj Police on June 22 seized huge amount of drugs and arrested 2 drug peddler from Lamajuar, Karimganj.
Based on information police launched operation against drugs. In the area of Lamajuar on Badarpur NH 37, Karimganj police intercepted a Maroti Suzuki and a bike without a number from. By searching these vehicles police manages to seized 10,000 Yaba Tablets. Police arrest two people in connection of it.
Among the arrested, one who wanted to fled from the scene, he met an accident and injured badly. Police took him to the Sri Gouri Hospital. Later he was transferred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.
Police also seized the Maruti Suzuki number ML 11 0706 and bike has seized by the police.
The arrested people identified as Bappon Talukdar and Sibul Ahmed. The market value of the seized item would be Rs.3 Crore.
Earlier on same day Cachar Police seized a huge amount of suspected heroin worth would be Rs. 5 crores at Salchapra under Silchar Police station. One person arrested in connection of it.
Salchapra on NH 37 and intercepted an auto-rickshaw. After searching the vehicle bearing number AS 11 EC 4513 the police recovered 47 soap cases containing 974 grams of suspected heroin.
