Karimganj Police seized Rs.30 Crore Worth of Yaba Tablets

Karimganj Police on Sunday night sized a huge amount of Yaba Tablets worth Rs.30 Crore from the area of Jalapur under Badarpur, Karimganj district of Assam. Police also arrested three individual in connection of it.

Based on tip-off, Karimganj Police launched an operation led by Superintendent of police Partha Pratim Das on National Highway 6 in the area of Jalalpur. There they intercepted a four-wheeler bearing the registration number AS 01 DL 1510. After searching the vehicle police discovered a hidden chamber above the right tyre and recovered 1,00,000 Yaba Tablet from it.

They also arrested three individuals in connection of it. The drugs were transported from Mizoram to Patharkandi.

Karimfan Police

The three individual, identified as Ashraf Ali, Abdul Hannan and Pradeep Das all are from Katigorah, Cachar.

The vehicle that used to transport the illegal item confiscated and the Yaba tablets has seized and brought to the Badarpur police station.

Further investigation is going on. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in social media, “Acting on credible information, @karimganjpolice conducted an anti-narcotics operation in the Jalalpur area today, seizing a vehicle with 1,00,000 YABA tablets and apprehending three individuals. The vehicle was coming from a neighbouring State. Kudos to @assampolice for their committment to a #DrugFreeAssam.”
