Karimganj Police on October 8, seized 80,000 Yaba Tablet in Churaibari check point, Karimganj along the Assam-Tripura border.
Based on secret inputs, Karimganj police intercepted a truck in the Churaibari check point, Karimganj along Assam-Tripura Border. The police launched a search operation and recovered 8 packet containing 80,000 Yaba Tablet from a hidden chamber of the vehicle.
Police also arrest two individual in connection of the seized item trafficking. The accused identified as Tinku Malakar and Sujit Deb, residents of Tripura.
Police said that the market value of the seized items would be around Rs. 8 Crore.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, โBased on credible intelligence, @karimganjpolice successfully executed an anti-narcotics operation, intercepting a truck and seizing 80,000 YABA tablets. Two individuals have also been apprehended in connection with this case. Good job by @assampolice.โ
