Karimganj Police successful operation which result seizure of huge amount of drugs valued about Rs.20 Crore. The operation, led by the SP of Karimganj Partha Pratim Das.
Based on secret input, on 12 April Karimganj Police launched an operation where they intercepted KIA SELTOS vehicle bearing registration number AS/01/FK/2939. The police recovered 1,00,000 of Yaba Tablet from the secret chamber of the vehicle. Police also arrested two person in connection of it. The vehicle intercepted in the area of Sri Krishna Nagar area under the jurisdiction of the Auctionbazar police station, Karimganj.
Name of the Accused arrested by the Karimganj Police
The name of the arrested person identified as Abul Hasan from Patharkandi Erligul and Shaharul Islam from Badarpur Lamajur. Further invstigation reveled that Abul Hasan located in Dimapur and suspected to hold a significant position within the drug trafficking network operating in Margherita.
It has revealed that the unlawful tablets procured from Cachar.
Currently, law enforcement is actively engaging in interrogations with both Abul Hasan and Shaharul Islam to acquire further information concerning the source, dissemination, and individuals implicated in the illicit drug trade.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the Karimganj Police through social media. He states, “In a major crackdown on the narcotics network, @karimganjpolice, acting on a specific input intercepted a vehicle in Srikrishna Nagar and seized 1,00,000 YABA tablets from its secret chambers. Two people have been nabbed including a major supplier and carrier in the operation, where the vehicle was coming from a neighbouring State. Well Done Assam Police”
Earlier, on On, 4 April the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police, in collaboration with Cachar Police, done a historic raid in Silchar, Assam. A huge amount of drugs in 105 cases of soap along with several polythene packets containing approximately 21 kilograms of suspected heroin recovered.
