On September 2023, the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police jointly launched an operation. In This operation they successfully foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Kupwara. The operation is still ongoing and as of now two militants have killed. The incident occurred in the Kumkadi area of the Machil sector in the north Kashmir district. Security forces have recovered significant weaponry and evidence from the encounter site. Indian Army and Police recovered weapons are two AK rifles, four AK magazines, 90 rounds of ammunition, a Pakistani pistol, a pouch and โน2,100 in Pakistani currency.
Kupwara Police said via X, “Based on an intelligence input provided by Kupwara Police,in a joint operation carried by Army and Police in kumkadiarea of Machal sector,2 infiltrating terrorists have been killed so far. The operation is still in progress.”
So far, 02 Aks, 4AKMags, 90rds, 01 Pak Pistol, 01 Pouch and Rs. 2100 Pak currency etc has been recovered from encounter site. Search continues. https://t.co/b8hLTv8a45

NIA Conducts Raids in Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir, in Connection with Lashkar-e-Taiba Attack

On September 30, 2023, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out raids. The raids carried out at multiple locations in the Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir. These raids conducted in connection with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) attack. Which occurred in Dhangri village of Rajouri district in January of the same year. The attack resulted in the tragic loss of five civilians’ lives and left several others seriously injured.
The NIA’s statement regarding the operation reads, “Raids were conducted today at five locations across Gursai village of Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch district. NIA teams made extensive searches at the locations: the residential premises of Overground Workers (OGWs) linked with LeT, a proscribed terrorist outfit. Several digital devices and documents containing incriminating data and content have seized and are being scrutinized for unraveling the conspiracy.” The investigation into this attack continues.
