India Cricket team has announced the name of the 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
India has already won ICC Men’s Champions Trophy in 2002 and 2013, and now they are on the way to win the next trophy. The ICC Men’s Champion Trophy 2025 is set to begin on February 19, 2025.
Rohit Sharma will lead the squad and Subman Gill is acting as a vice Captain. During the press conference, chief selector Ajit Agarkar said, “We are waiting on Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness and will know his status in early February from BCCI’s medical team.”
As Jasprit Bumrah had suffered stress related injury during the fifth Test of the Border-Gavasker Trophy 2025. Kuldeep had not played any competitive cricket after his hernia surgery in November.

India has officially announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, with Rohit Sharma continuing as captain and Shubman Gill named as vice-captain. The team includes both new and seasoned players, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was called up for the first time for an ODI and is anticipated to start as the reserve opener.
Along with all-rounders Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel, as well as Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, Virat Kohli will continue to occupy his position at number three in a sturdy middle order. Washington Sundar is the fourth all-round player on the team. Sanju Samson, who was not present at the last Vijay Hazare Trophy, is replaced by Rishabh Pant in the wicketkeeping department.
After recovering from an injury, Shami recently rejoined the T20I team for the England series. However, Arshdeep Singh was selected, and Mohammed Siraj was left out. After a stellar run as the top wicket-taker in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and outstanding performances in international cricket, notably India’s 2023 ODI series in South Africa, Arshdeep was included.
India will play England in a three-match ODI series on February 6, 9, and 12 prior to the Champions Trophy. These games will be an important part of getting ready for the main event. By February 11, the ICC must receive the final Champions Trophy squad.
The campaign of India, which is in Group A, will begin on February 20 against Bangladesh. They will then play crucial matches against Pakistan on February 23 and New Zealand on March 2. Since the Indian government has refused to allow the squad to travel to Pakistan, the tournament’s host country, all of India’s group-stage matches will be played in Dubai due to political limitations.
