Hailakandi Youth Arrested for Facebook Post Supporting Bangladesh unrest

A Youth from Hailakandi, Assam has arrested for a Facebook Post supporting the unrest in Bangladesh, by the Hailakandi Police.

The name of the youth, identified as Rezuwan Ulla Mazarbhhuiya and police arrested him from his residence at ward number 5 in Rangpur under Lala Police Station, Hailakandi.

In his Facebook post, Rezuwan called for a outcome in India. He wrote in a post in Bengali, “বাংলাদেশের পর এবার ভারতের পালা। বাংলাদেশের প্রভাব আসাম ও দ্রুত শুরু হবে।“ translation in English of the post is “After Bangladesh, now it’s time for India. Bangladesh’s impact will soon be witnessed in Assam.”

He also mentioned connections to the militant group Al-Qaeda in comments on the same post. The Hailakandi police is now question him to established any terror links.
Assam DGP Gyanendra Pratap Singh has announced that the Indian Passport holders will be allow to return from Bangladesh.

DGP GP Singh said that Assam Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) are working together to prevent illegal entry by non-Indians.

This comes after Bangladesh saw violent protests which leads to resign Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from her post and fleeing to India. Many Reports of violence against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh have also emerged since then.
