On Thursday, 8 February a portion of boundary wall of Gokulpuri Metro Station, Delhi had collapsed. Four people were injured in this incident among them one person badly injured. Other three people sustained minor injuries, the local police said.
A few bikes have damaged which was parked near the wall. A fire officials said that fire tenders and police personnel were in the spot.
One Official said that the incident took place at around 11 am where one portion of the metro station boundary wall of the eastern side fell down below the road.
DCP (Northeast) Joy Tirkey said that at least three to four people were injured and one person trapped under the broken wall and was badly injured while others sustained minor injuries.
The officer also added that the police personnels, along with a few public help managed to extract the person from the trapped of the broken wall. DCP said that when the incident occurred the trapped person was riding a scooty. After the extract of the person he was rushed to the GTB Hospital.
Delhi Fire Service Chief Atul Garg said that he received a call of the incident at around 11 am and four fire was sent to the spot immediately. Two injured person were rescued by the Fire department but other two were sent to the hospital by the public.
The debris is being removed with the JCBs and cranes. The Delhi Metro staff and police are present at the spot.
An investigation is under way into the matter, the DCP said. A case will be filed under this relevant.
