Fire Broke Out in Silchar-Delhi Sampark Kranti Express in Cachar

Fire broke out in a coach of the Silchar-Delhi Sampark Kranti Express train at Chandranathpur, Cachar, on the late night of February 10. No injury reported.

Passengers became alert after noticing thick black smoke entering their coach while the train was in motion. They immediately informed the railway staff about the incident. The railway authorities promptly halted the train at Chandranathpur station and managed to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. However, after an hour-long delay, the train resumed its journey toward its destination.

As per reports, many of the passengers are from Barak Valley and were on their way to Prayagraj (Maha Kumbh).

Further investigation is going on.
