Delhi Floods break the records of Yamuna water level of 45 years ago
As the Yamuna River water level rose to 208.46 meters on Thursday morning. Earlier in 1978 the water level reached 207.49 meters, the highest in 45 years ago. Low-lying areas and roads have been submerged, prompting the closure of 17 schools in flood-affected regions. The flooding even reached the street outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, while a major road leading to Connaught Place, a prominent business center in central Delhi, was also engulfed by water.
