On the 6th Day of Umrangso Coal Mine, Assam Rescue operation two dead body has recovered, which made the death toll to three.
Till now six workers were trapped, search operation continuous by the emergency team.
One of the dead body has been recovered on January 11, in the wee hours. The dead body worker identified as local worker of 1 No. Umrangshu, Dima Hasao, Assam named Ligen Magar aged 27 years.
Another dead body has recovered in the noon. But the identity of the worker is not known yet.
Assam Chief Minister took the social media and stated about the recovery of dead people.
By recovering the first he stated, “Rescue efforts in Umrangsu continue with unwavering resolve. Tragically, another body was recovered this morning, with the identity yet to be confirmed. Our hearts go out to the grieving, as we hold onto hope and strength in this difficult time.”
Later he confirmed about the identity of dead worker. He stated, “The identity of the recovered body has been confirmed as Ligen Magar, aged approximately 27 years, a resident of 1 No. Umrangshu, Dima Hasao, Assam.”
At Noon he confirmed about the next dead recovery. He stated, “Another body was recovered from the Umrangsu mine a short while ago, marking the third recovery so far. The identification process is currently underway.”
In response to the situation, the teams at the site will increase their efforts to rescue the remaining trapped miners.
Earlier on January 8, a dead body of worker identified as Sri Ganga Bahadur Srestho from Udayapur district, Nepal recovered.
Today, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the Umrangso coal mine in Dima Hasao district, where eight miners have been trapped since January 6, was declared abandoned 12 years ago but is not considered illegal.
