Cancer Vaccine for 9-16 years old girls to be available Within 5-6 months: Here’s What You Need to Know!

The research on Cancer vaccine is nearly complete and trails are underway said Union Minister of State for Health, while addressing a conference on February 18, 2025. In this conference he stated that cancer vaccine for woman will be available within 5-6 months.

Union Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav, “A vaccine to fight cancers affecting women will be available in five to six months, and those in the age group of nine to 16 years will be eligible for inoculation.”

He said that the number of the cancer patient is increasing now a days, so, Central Government has initiated a step to address this issue. He also said women above the age of 30 will undergo screenings at hospitals to aid in early detection. Additionally, daycare cancer centers will be established to enhance timely diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

About the Cancer Vaccine

The minister announced that the much-awaited cancer vaccine will be available within five to six months. Girls aged 9 to 16 years will be eligible for inoculation as part of the initiative to prevent cancers affecting women.

According to union minister of state for health Prataprao Jadhav stated that the vaccine will provide protection against most common types of cancer in woman. The cancers are breast, oral and cervical cancers. The research on cancer is nearly complete and trials currently in progress.

Government Provide Relief on Cancer Medicine

The Minister said that the Government has removed customs duty on cancer treatment and the decision took during 2025 Budget session. The decision took to make the cancer medicine affordable for patients. He also stated that existing 12,500 AYUSH health centers across the country will be further strengthened to enhance healthcare services. Additionally, efforts are underway to expand the number of health centers under the AYUSH department to improve access to medical facilities nationwide.

Cancer is a disease in which some of the body’s cells grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. Cancer can start almost anywhere in the human body, which made up of trillions of cells.

There are many types of cancer like, Carcinomas, Sarcomas, Leukemias, breast, oral, cervical cancers etc.
