Cachar Records highest temperature of 39 degree Celsius today which is the highest record till now of this year. The temperature will be rise in mercury levels as for following past week the temperature is still rising. To safeguards the students from extreme heat during the school hours the Cachar administration has issued a new measure. The DC of the Cachar district has announced that school timing which will shift in the morning due to extreme heat during the school hours. This will effective from 27 May (Monday).
Cachar DC Declared a notice of revised school timings
The notice given by the DC of the Cachar state that, “Whereas, Cachar district is persistently facing high temperatures during the last week and considering the continuous rise in mercury levels, appropriate measures must be taken to ensure the well-being of the students and minimize their exposure to extreme heat during school hours.
Whereas, after careful consideration and consultation with relevant authorities, it is felt important to prepone all school timings within the district, effective from 27/05/2024. This adjustment is intended to facilitate a cooler environment for students, ensuring their safety and comfort during the hotter parts of the day.”
The revised school timings (for both Government & Private Schools) under Cachar district will be as follows:-
- L.P. Schools: 7.30 AM to 12:15 PM
- U.P. Schools: 7.30 AM to 12:45 PM
- High Schools/Higher Secondary Schools: 7.30 AM to 1.15 PM
This order shall come into force from 27/05/2024 and shall remain in effect until further orders.
Education Minster Ranoj Pegu said to shift school time
Earlier on 25 May, Education Minster Ranoj Pegu post last year notice of earlier school timings in social media handle. He also stated , “In view of the heatwave the state is facing now, all District Commissioners have been instructed to follow the guideline of last year conveyed via a WT message. The same is still in force. A decision should depend on the situation of a district.”
