Bangladesh Fire: At least 43 people killed in the capital of Bangladesh Dhaka in shopping mall where fire broke out.

According to local media reports, on 29 February late night a fire broke out in a six storey Green Cozy Cottage Shopping mall which situated in Bailey road of Dhaka. The fire broke out at around 10:00 pm according to local time. The fire was brought under after 2 hours, according to fire officials. They also investigating the cause of fire.

From the mall at least seventy five people were rescued and many of them were immediately brought to the hospital.

Bangladesh Health Minister, Samanta Lal Sen said that the fire broke out in the shopping building of Dhakaโ€™s Bailey Road area. Which is the busy commercial district at the heart of the capital. He also said, at least 33 people including woman and children had declared dead at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. At least 22 people were going through the treatment of serious burn and in critical condition.

How did the Fire broke out in Shopping Mall of Dhaka, Bangladesh?

According to some media reports the fire firstly began from the biriyani Restaurant on the first floor of the building Green Cozy Cottage Shopping mall. After that the fire spread to the other floor of the building.

The Fire Service and Civil defense Minister Gen.Md.Main Uddin said that more than a dozen of fire vehicle were deployed in the area.

Firefighters rescued many survivors and pulled out the bodies by early Friday. At least 43 people found died in this incident.

According to Daily Bangladesh newspaper the name of the restaurant where emergency services called is Kacchi Bhai Restaurant.

This shopping mall also contains other restaurant, mobile phone shop and several clothing shops.

According to the news media one of the survivorโ€™s name Mohammed Siam said, โ€œI knew about the fire when it was at the first floor. We moved to the roof of the building, around 30 people were there. When fire was under control by the fire services personnel broke into one side of the roof and rescued usโ€.

โ€œWe were at the 6th floor when the saw the first smoke of the fire raising through staircase,โ€ said the restaurant manager name Shohel. โ€œ A lot of people rushed upstairs. We used a water pipe to climb the buildingโ€
