Assam Special Task Force (STF) has seized 537.2 grams of heroin on October 14, in the area of Jorabat, one person arrested in the connection of it.
According to information, the operation took place opposite to the North East Cancer Hospital. The force intercepted a truck which was coming from Nagaland towards Guwahati. After searching the vehicle Assam STF recovered 45 soap cases containing 537.2 grams.
The arrested drug supplier and driver of the truck identified as Rananjay Mandal (age 46) got arrested. He is a residents of Bamunkuchi, Nagaon, Barpeta district, but he currently residing in Bengali Basti, Kamrup (M).
Earlier on October 13, Karimganj police seized huge amount of drugs worth Rs. 4 Crore, 4 people arrested in connection of it. A team of Karimganj police led by Superintendent of Police Karimganj, Partha Pratim Das launched an operation based on reliable inputs in the area of Chewali Beel along BVCL Road. There they intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number MZ 01D 7755. After search police recovered 48 soap cases, containing 548.82 grams of heroin. Four individual arrested in connection of it.
