A harrowing gang rape case has reported in Assam, Udalguri district. A group of youth allegedly raped a 16 years old girl while she was returning home from tuition.
On June 24, the Assam police arrested five criminals in connection of the gang rape. A youth who wants to fled has been shot in his leg to arrest.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has on June 26 said that on June 22, several boys who was involved in the rape of a minor girl, five miscreants has been arrested. The main accused who attempt to escape yesterday has injured in police firing. CM also directed DGP Assam police to investigation the matter under supervision of a senior officer.
He stated via his social media account, “In connection with Mazbat PS Case No. 30/24, involving the rape of a minor girl by several boys on June 22, five miscreants have been arrested. The main accused was injured in police firing yesterday while attempting to escape custody. I have directed the DGP Assam police to thoroughly investigate the matter under the supervision of a senior officer.”
About The Incident of Assam Minor Girl Gang rape case
The gang raped took place on June 22, 2024 at Dhunsuri T.E. under Mazbat PS in Udalguri on the evening time.
According to reports the minor girl was coming to home from tuition with friends and forcefully taken her by the gang and raped her in a nearby secluded area.
The incident came into fore when the parents logged a complain on Sunday in the Mazbat Police station. Following the complaint the police five accused. The accused identified as, Mustaq Ahmed, Mohidul Islam, Hafizul Ali, Saddam Ali and Ehsan Ahmed.
Following the incident, a violent situation outraged the area as various organisation and a large crowd staged a protest in front of Mazbat Circle office, by demanding justice for the victim.
On Monday two accused house also vandalized and set fire, following the firefighters rushed to the spot. The police also went to the area to control the situation.
