Assam Police has arrested 10 suspects in connection of Congress MP Rakibul Hussain assaults that took place on February 20 at Nagaon.
Today, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has shared the details identity of the arrested individual. He stated, “The police have identified the individuals involved in the alleged incident of assault on Congress MP Sri Rakibul Hussain. The identified persons are as follows:
1/ Harun of Jamtola
2/ Haresh of Fakoli
3/ Basir of Tamulitup
4/ Kasem Ali of Kawoimari
5/ Rosidul of Kawoimari
6/ Ayub Gunabari
7/ Lutkior of Rail station
8/ Khaleque of Rowmari
9/ Mojibur of Gorematikhowa
10/ Jahangir of Koachgaon
Police will take actions as per Law”
Congress MP Rakibul Hussain officially filed an FIR on the attack
The Congress MP has also officially filed an FIR at Nagaon Sadar Police Station on Thursday regarding the attack on him at Rupahihat, Nagaon.
At the presence of his son and several party workers the complaint was filed.

According to FIR, he filed the FIR against 22 individuals. Hussain was attacked by a group of miscreants at Natun Bazar while he was on his way to a Congress workers’ meeting in Gunabari. Witnesses said the attackers had their faces covered with black cloth and waved black flags before attacking him. His bodyguard was also injured, increasing tension in the area.
CM Himanta Sarma stated, “”Today (February 20), at around 2:30 PM, Congress MP Rakibul Hussain was obstructed by the public while travelling to Gunabari village under Rupahi Police Station. Following the obstruction, his PSO fired four rounds of blank fire. I assure you that whenever he visits Rupahi Town Village in Samaguri, the state government will provide additional security.”
Assam Assembly has witnessed a chaotic disruption on February 21 over Rakib Hussain attack. This chaos led speaker Biswajit Daimary to adjourned the House twice within the first 30 minutes.
