Assam Commando Died in Mobile Phone Explosion While Charging

A tragic incident took place in Dwarbond area of Cachar district, Assam, where a commando of Assam battalion died after a mobile explosion while charging.

The Incident took place in the early morning, at Dwarbond Commando Battalion camp. According to reports, the commando identified as Amar Jyoti Taid, was talking on his phone while it was charging. Suddenly phone exploded and caught fire because of electric short circuit. The Dwarbond Police immediately rushed him to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), but the doctors declared him brought dead.

Amar Jyoti Taid was a constable of Second Assam Commando Battalion in Hailakandi. He is the resident of Dimou Laibiler of Assam. He joined the Assam Police Commando Force 1.5 years ago.

The dead body of the Commando has sent for post mortem at the SMCH to determine the exact cause of death.

We have heard about this type of incident before in other state. However, this is the first case in Assam’s Barak valley. Be Alert those who have this type of habit. Avoid using phone while they are charging.

The officials are now investigating the matter and ensuring that safety protocols are reviewed to prevent this types incident in the future.
