On January 19, after midnight, hooded gunman robbed a businessman’s residence named Anil Deka’s in Ganeshpara, Guwahati.

The incident occurred under Fatasil Ambari Police jurisdiction. The gang not only ransacked and stole valuables but also attacked victims wife, at gunpoint.

Guwahati Police sources say that four armed men arrived in a white Swift Dzire, wearing masks.

When the robbers entered forcefully into the apartment both the wife of victim and driver were present at home.

Robbers allegedly assaulted Karabi physically and sexually during robbery and threatening her with pistols, knives, and other weapons.

In approximately 40 minutes, robbers executed the robbery in a methodical and quick manner. They took cash, gold jewels and other high-end items with them when they left.

Police investigation suggests this was premeditated since Anil Deka and his daughter was away from home and the thieves likely had foreknowledge of this.

Surveillance footage may help police track the suspect’s movements and identity those involved in the crime. Police responded to the call at reached the robbery scene soon after the incident and have begun detailed investigation .

This incident has increased anxiety and fear among residents of Ganeshpara, highlighting once again the concerns about organized crime and night safety.
