On 16 April, at Pune Airport, an Air India flight carrying 180 passengers had a minor accident with a tug tractor while moving on the runway of the airport.

The airport authorities acted fast and followed emergency procedures to ensure everyone’s safety and result no casualty. Passengers were quickly taken off the plane, and arrangements were made for them to catch another flight to Delhi.

โ€œThe aircraft, carrying around 180 passengers, suffered damage to its nose and a tyre near the landing gear. Despite the collision, all passengers and crew on board are reported to be safe,”ย an airport official says to ANI.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is investigating the incident to find out why the tug truck bumped into the plane during taxiing. The tug truck helps move the plane on the ground. The investigation will determine mistakes made and focus on how to improve safety protocols.

Despite the accident, airport operations continued as normal. The damaged plane was taken for repairs and for inspection without causing any disruption to other flight operation.

Earlier, on Wednesday, there was another incident reported involving an Air India flight bound for Vadodara. Before takeoff in Delhi, a crew member found a piece of tissue paper in the plane’s bathroom with the word ‘bomb’ written on it. As a precaution, security forces were called in, and passengers were asked to leave the plane.

The plane was checked thoroughly, but thankfully, no suspicious items were found. It’s a reminder of the importance of staying vigilant and following safety procedures, even when things seem normal.”
