Assam’s Cachar declared November 1, 2024 as local holiday for Diwali across the district. On October 28, DC Cachar released a notification, where he announced about the holiday.
The local holiday has been approved under the Negotiable Instruments Act and the holiday will applicable for all state government offices, including Revenue and Magisterial courts, educational institutions, and financial institutions.
The decision aims to allow residents and employees to celebrate Diwali with their families and communities. However, the holiday will not affect emergency services and all duties and services related to various kinds of Examination/Written test/Interviews etc.
