Kerala police arrested a woman named Zahida Khatun from Bhaga Bazar, Dholai, Cachar, Assam for committing horrific murder of her husband in Kerala.
As per reports, accused Zahida Khatun killed her husband by attacking with sharp object by cutting her throat and pouring acid over his body.
This crime came into light on October 10, when reports emerged about the disturbing details of Babul’s death.
The victim man, Babul Hussain originally from Moirabari in Morigaon district of Assam has moved to Kerala two month ago for work, accompanied by Zahida, his second wife.
For nine days, Babul’s first wife, who lived in Moirabari, became more and more worried when she couldn’t reach him. Concerned for his safety, she started asking friends for help to find out where he was. After repeated failed she contact to Babul’s landlord in Kerala, who shocked her by asking if Babul had returned home since he hadn’t seen for several days.
The landlord feel something wrong after the call, so he decided to open the Babul’s room. After he opened the door of the room he found strong, foul odor filled the air and discovered Babul’s decomposing dead body hidden beneath a bedsheet.
The landlord immediately informed Kerala police. Police went at the scene and launched investigation to traced the accused Kahtun, who fled from the scene.
The Murder of the man in Kerala took place on October 1
According to reports, Zahida Khatun, who had living in Kerala’s Ernakulam district with her husband, on October 1, she brutally murder his husband by slitting his throat and pouring acid his body, fled from the scene after covering the dead body with bedsheet.
Babul’s brother described the family’s troubled relationships, by stating, “Babul was married and had two children. But he often visited a neighbour’s house and eventually fell in love with Zahida Khatun. This woman was also married, and they ran away to Kerala and got married. Babul didn’t provide enough money for his first wife, and whenever he did give her money, the second wife would get jealous and argue with him.”
Things took a dangerous turn when Zayeda and her sister decided to kill Babul because they were frustrated with his support for his first wife. After the crime, Zayeda escaped to Cachar, Assam. The Kerala Police followed leads from their investigation and found her with the help of Cachar Police. She arrested while working at a local brick kiln and has taken back to Kerala for legal proceedings.
