Old Age Pension Scheme In Manipur | Apply Online:-

Old age person, destitute, widows who don’t have any income or sources of income, either of his own or anyone else who is legally liable to support him or her. If both husband and wife are destitute, each one of them shall be eligible for pension. Widows who don’t have any source of income including income from property owned by her or who has an earning brother are eligible for the pension.

Manipur old Age Pension Rules:

Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur is providing financial assistance to the old aged and infirmed persons/ destitute as pensions. In exercise of the this scheme, government of Manipur has published rules and regulation. Some of them are provided here for reference.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scheme:

Old aged pensions, destitute, widows who don’t have any income or sources of income, either of his own or anyone else who is legally liable to support him or her. If both husband and wife are destitute, each one of them shall be eligible for pension. Widows who don’t have any source of income including income from property owned by her or who has an earning brother are eligible for the pension.

Age :- The age of the person must be of sixty or above in case of men and fifty-five or above in the case of women.

Domicile :- Destitute old aged persons applying for pension should be resident of Manipur for a period exceeding ten years at the time of making the application and shall be citizen of India.

Amount of pension :- The amount of pension is RS 60 per month per head

Intending applicants shall submit Form MOAP-I to the DCs/SDO of their residing districts/divisions, who will forward it to the Director of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur.

Apply In- Person:

1. In order to apply for Social Security Old Age Pension (Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension) scheme, the applicant has to approach their concerned Block Development Office / Municipal Corporation / Municipality / Panchayat office / District Social Welfare Office where the applicant resides as appropriate.
2. Contact Manipur Municipality please select your district name from the list provided under “Districts in Manipur” to reach next page. In the given page, please select menu option “DEPARTMENTS > SOCIAL WELFARE“ AND “ABOUT DISTRICT > Who’s Who” AND “DIRECTORY > PUBLIC UTILITIES > Municipalities” for contact details AND Panchayat the given page please select the hyperlink against the respective state as per requirement for contact details.
3. Please visit the respective office. Please consult with the concerned authority at the office to find the right office to apply for the scheme. Go to the respective office. Consult with the designated authority about the applying procedure for this scheme. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.

5. Complete the application form. Attach the document as per the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it to the designated receiving authority as advised.
6. After receiving the application, authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place the application will be accepted.

7. Please find the fee details provided under the “Fees” section of this page.

8. The authorities will either manually record or use a computer to document the application and provide an acknowledgment receipt for each form received. So, collect it and please keep it safe for future reference.
9. Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting approval for the scheme.
10. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
11. This application will be processed further. Concerned authorities will verify the applicant’s details and documents. If required, the authorities will visit the applicant’s place as per the address provided on the application form to make field verification.
12. Upon verification, the verification authorities will forward these applications to the respective sanctioning department with their consent.
13. Concerned sanctioning authority will take the right decision against the appeal.
14. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection, if any, will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS”.
15. The entire process can be completed within 45 days of receipt of application. Once approved, the pensioner will be eligible to get the pension from the first week of next month onwards (or as per sanctioned period) Based on the availability of funds.
16. For any updates and clarification, the applicant shall revisit the office where they applied.
