9 children died and 4 other injured after a 50 years old wall collapsed in the Shahpur area of Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh.
The age of the children 10 to 14 years who are injured and died.
According to reports, the incident took place at around 08.30 am near the Hardaul Temple. The people were making Earthen Shivlings during the incident occurred.
Due to being Sunday children gathered there and sit for making Shivlings when the 50 year old wall collapsed.
Rescue operation is going on. JSB machines are using to remove debris an to retrieve the bodies and rescue the injured children.
The MLA of the area and former minister Gopal Bhargava arrived at the scene to oversea the rescue operation.
The CM has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh for the family of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for those injured.
Madhya Pradesh Minister Govind Rajput says, “The administration is actively working. We all are present here. The CM has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh for the family of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for those injured. I have asked the collector Sagar to work in this regard to prevent such incidents from happening again…”
Deepak Arya, Collector, Sagar said, “The incident happened around 8.30 am. The wall fell on the children, due to which 9 children died and 2 are undergoing treatment in the hospital.”
He also said“9 children died after being buried under the debris of a wall in Sagar. Some children are injured, and they are under treatment. All the debris has been removed from the site of the incident.”
