A seven years old child died after a wall partially collapsed from an under-construction building and fell into the child while playing in Hatigoan area of Guwahati, on Thursday.
After the incident, the contractors were accused of illegal construction and poor-quality work.
The victim child identified as Hasid Akthar Ahmed was a student of Blue Bell School, Guwahati.
According to locals, four children including the victim child were playing near the under-construction building when a part of wall collapsed and fell on them.
But the victim was injured critically and took him to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, where the doctor declared him died.
The building contractor has also been accused of breaking construction rules by not keeping the right distance between two buildings.
Locals urged the authority to demolished the building.
Meanwhile, the Hatigaon police arrived at the scene and launched investigation into the matter. he locals identified a person named Pappu as being responsible for the building.
