On Wednesday at late-night, Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has launched a raid at multiple hotels in the area of Paltan Bazar, Guwahati city, after receiving serious complaints about unhygienic food practices.
According to information, the GMC’s enforcement team has launched raid at around 12:30 am. The raid uncovered unhealthy food condition at several hospital, including the well-known Dhaba Dilkhush Punjabi Dhaba.
Further, during the raid the team also discovered prepared food which was stored in dirty condition, this may posed health risk. An officials discovered that a week-old meat in a freezer that was already infested with pests. The hotel’s poor hygiene and the use of expired ingredients were very concerning.
As a result the GMC has sealed the hotel immediately for serving unsafe food to customer.
