Assam University’s Diphu Campus Professor and his wife file Domestic Violence, Attempted Murder Charges Against Each Other

A Professor of Assam University’s Diphu campus and his wife has made serious alliteration against each other and filed Domestic Violence and Attempted Murder Charges, in Karbi Anglong district.

This charge sparks a police investigation.

According to senior police officer, on October 6, the professor’s wife, who teaches Hindi filed a complaint against the professor, alleging that he physically assaults her and her elder father, who intervened to protect her from abuse.

The official also said that both cases have been logged under Diphu police station, leading registration of two cases under BNS act.

Moreover, the wife also contacted the Assam State Commission for Women, which has taken notice for her complaints.

Additionally reports emerged, that the professor also faced allegation of abuse from some girls at the campus, but no student has officially lodged a complaint, police said.

The Assam University’s Diphu Campus is currently closed for Durga Puja, the official said that they were not aware about the incident.

The recent events have raised worries about campus safety and what actions the university administration will take after the break ends.
