Story of ‘695’ film

The story of this Arun Govil starrer film starts from the year 1528, during which Mughal forces are shown attacking the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. After that the story reaches the year 1858, during the British rule. In that period some enthusiastic Sikhs claimed to call the mosque located in Ayodhya as Ram temple. After this, the story comes directly to the year 1949 after India’s independence, where Ayodhya-based Bade Guruji (Arun Govil) dreams of establishing Ram Mandir again in place of Babri Masjid. His chief disciple Raghunandan (Ashok Samarth) resolves to accomplish this.

The first interval of the film ‘695’ is tight, which keeps the audience engaged, whereas there is a bit of disintegration in the second interval. Apart from the acting of the actors in the film, their dialogues impress the audience. Music also touches the heart. Arun Govil has role of Guru Raghavdas in the film 695. He makes the audience emotional in some scenes. Ashok Samarth supported him well in the role of Raghunandan Das. Manoj Joshi won hearts with his short performance in the climax. KK Raina has played the role of Lal Krishna Advani very skillfully, although all the actors seen in the roles of other leaders did not look as effective as KK Raina.

‘695’ movie review

The film’s director Yogesh Bhardwaj has made a poor film with a weak script on a good story. The story of the film progresses in a haphazard manner. At some places it gives you the feeling that it is a TV serial rather than a film.

Among the cast of the film, Arun Govil, who was seen in the role of Bade Guruji, has done a good job. While Ashok Samarth has also proved his role. Apart from these, capable artists like Govind Namdev, Manoj Joshi, Mukesh Tiwari and Akhilendra Mishra have also done good work. The music of the film is nothing special, while its cinematography and background score are also ordinary.
