In the Late night of Sunday two separate road accident took near the Shraddhanjali flyover and Ganesh temple on Zoo Road, Guwahati, where 5 individuals injured.
In the area of Zoo Road, Guwahati around 1 am, intoxicated youth, under influence of alchohol occurred an accident.
A drunk young man and woman in a speeding Mahindra XUV (AS01EH4665) ran over a scooty and a Tata Yodha truck, which was being used for setting up lights for the upcoming Durga Puja.
Inside the Mahindra XUV, several bottles have been found.
In this incident the scooty rider and youth driving the XUV was injured. They were immediately taken to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.
The workers engaged setting up the lights barely escaped with their lives.
In a separate accident, near Guwahati Ganesh Mandit, where a bike collided with a Swift Dzire vehicle.
A young man and a woman riding bike injured critically. After the accident the driver of the Swift Dzire vehicle fled from the scene.
Thanks to the quick action of bystanders, the injured man and woman were quickly taken to a hospital.
However, there were complaints about the slow response from both the police and the ambulance, raising more concerns about road safety in the city.
