Today, July 18 a government employee of Silchar, Assam arrested for accepting demanded bribe in his office. The government employee who arrested for accepting bribe identified as Nurul Hoque Barbhuiya, Patwari, Sadar Circle, Cachar, Silchar. He caught red handed when he accepts Rs.5000 bribe from Akhtar Hussain inside the office.
According to information, Nurul Hoque Barbhuiya has demanded the bribe in connection with payment of compensation against land acquired for construction of road. He demanded Rs.30,000 bribe from Akhtar Hussain to expedite the release of funds for hid land, which was acquired under the Bharatmala Project.
He caught red handed by a team of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam when he accepting the sum of Rs. 5000.
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption team conducted a thorough interrogation within office. Additionally, a raid has been carried out at Nurul Hoque Barbhuiya house in Bagpur, Cachar as part of investigation.
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam has post about the bribe through their social media account. They stated, โToday @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Nurul Hoque Barbhuiya, Patwari, Sadar Circle,Cachar,Silchar after he accepted bribe in office in connection with payment of compensation against land acquired for construction of road.โ
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption team has recovered Rs. 1090000/- cash during raid. They stated, “(Ref:Trap of Nurul Hoque Barbhuiya, Patwari at Silchar by a team of @DIR_VAC_ASSAM) During search of his house at Sonai, Cachar, cash Rs. 1090000/- (ten lac ninety thousand) has been recovered and seized by @cacharpolice.”
