Four suspected Poachers arrested at Orang National Park in the area of Dalgaon in Assam’s Darrang district for allegedly planning of Rhino Poaching.
Based on inputs of poaching plan, the police launched an operation, resulted the seizure of weapons and other items that illegally used.
The name of the arrested poachers are
1.Nur Hussain
2. Abul Hussain,
3. Jaffar Ali,
4. Nur Islam
Police also seized one 0.303 Rifle with ammunition, 3 mobile handsets, five motorcycles and camping stores from their possession.
In the time of arrest the poachers were planning to go inside the park for poaching.
The breakthrough happened after one of the poachers, Abul Hussain, confessed. He stated that the seized weapons and equipment were meant for a planned poaching operation in Orang National Park, a well-known habitat for rhinos.
DGP GP Singh took his X handle and stated, “Four persons arrested by Darrang Police in connection with the planning for Rhino Poaching at Orang National Park. 1. Nur Hussain 2. Abul Hussain, 3. Jaffar Ali, 4. Nur Islam have been And seized one .303 Rifle with ammunition, 3 mobile handsets, five motorcycles and camping stores from their possession.They were planning to go inside the park for poaching.
