College Principal has accused of Fraud in Dhubri, Assam; complaint filed

On Thursday (August 22), the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell (CM’s SVC) has filed a complaint against the principal of Hamid College, Satsia in Dhubri, Assam.

The principal of the college Shahadot Ali has accused for embezzling Rs.60-80 lakh college fund.

In this fraud, the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell has summoned several college staff members for questioning as part of the investigation. However, none of the summoned individuals have appeared for interrogation so far.

Sources also revealed that a major scam occurred under the guise of college development. The allegation revealed that around Rs.80 lakh was taken under the pretense of buying various materials.

The principal, of Hamid College, Satsia in Dhubri Shahadot Ali has accused for preparing fake bills to misuse and misappropriating the funds, sources added.

Further accusations claim that Principal Shahadot Ali created fake bills to misuse the funds. The CM’s Vigilance cell has also summoned the owners of the firms from which the materials were supposedly purchased. There are suspicions that the college management committee might also be involved in this large-scale theft.

In January 2024, the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell raided Shahadot Ali’s residence, where they seized several incriminating documents related to Hamidabad College after a lengthy search.
