Cachar Robbery: A gang of robbers on last night targeting both house and business establishment at Kalain area and looted Rs.11 Lakh cash as well as valuable ornaments.
According to reports, last night a dacoit gang consisting 10 to 15 armed individuals, forcibly entered a house of Business man Niben Chandra Roy in the Brahmangram village of Kalain. They attacked his family and, at gunpoint, took Rs.11 lakh in cash and several lakh worth of gold. After causing chaos in the house for nearly an hour, the robbers went to Niben Chandra’s business and stole โน70,000.
The Robbery took place in the early hours of August 5 at around 1.30 am in the Brahmangram village of Kalain, Cachar.
On 5 August, morning Niben Chandra filed an FIR at the local police station. He also suspect that the robbers or dacoit to be locals. The Locals police ahs launched an investigation, but no suspect has arrested till now.
Niben Chandra said to the media about the incident. He said, โAround 1:30 AM, I woke up to get a glass of water and heard a knock on my door. I thought it was my mother, but when I opened the door, 10-12 people forced their way in and held me down. They took the chain from my neck and demanded to know where the cash was. They threatened to kill me if I didn’t tell them. They went to my father’s room, broke the door with sharp weapons, and tied us both up. They took my wife, child, and mother hostage and searched the house for cash and valuables. They had guns and sharp weapons and threatened us the entire time.โ
