Another child died in Barak valley who was positive for H1N1 or Swine Flu. On Tuesday a child dies who tested positive for H1N1 or Swine Flu in Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). This is the second such case. But the cause of death is yet to be determined by the authorities.
The Joint Director of Health Dr. Ashutosh Barman on Tuesday informed that A four month years old child from Uttarkrishnapur, Silchar died at the SMCH.
He also said that child named Arman Hussain Laskar admitted to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital on April 12 when he developed influenza- like symptoms. He tested positive for H1N1 at the Hospital and was undergoing treatment for swine flu. On May 7, he was declared died at the Hospital.
He also further mention that currently two patient are undergoing treatment and another patient recovered and got discharged from the hospital. Unfortunately, there are two death cases, another patient was died on May 4 who was patient of Swine Flu. The patient was a one-and-a-half year old girl child of Hailakandi and transferred to SMCH on April 28.
The Joint Director of Health remarked that the origin of the H1N1 infection strain remains unknown, and they are still looking into it to determine its source. Additionally, the parents of the death patient did not have the flu symptoms; they merely had a common cold. Health experts in the district say no need to panic, but to be careful and take precautions.
