Mizoram: At least 23 workers killed and 2 injured after the under-construction railway bridge collapsed in Mizoram. The incident took place at around 10.00 am when the worker start working in the construction side. The incident was occurred in the Sairang area of Mizoram.

The construction site is 20 Kilometer far away from the Aizwal, the capital of Mizoram. Rescue operation is under way. The police said that in the collapse site of the under-construction railway bridge 30-40 worker was present but only 23 worker dead body and 2 injured worker is recovered. Some are people is still now missing.

Rescue operation is under way to recovered all the missing people.

An ex-grtia of Rs.2 lakh will be given from PMNRF to the deceased worker and the injured worker will get Rs.50,000 PM Narendra Modi said via. X ( commonly known as twitter)

Prime Minister and Chief Minister of Mizoram shows condolence about the Mizoram 23 killed after under-construction railway bridge collapsed

Prime Minister said, โ€œPained by the bridge mishap in Mizoram. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. Rescue operations are underway and all possible assistance is being given to those affected. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. Rs. 50,000 would be given to the injured: PMโ€

Chief Minister of Mizoram Zoramthanga shows condolence and said, โ€œUnder construction railway over bridge atย  Sairang, near Aizawl collapsed today; atleast 17 workers died: Rescue under progress.Deeply saddened and affected by this tragedy. I extend my deepest condolences to all the bereaved families and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.Sending gratitude to the people who have come out in large numbers to help with rescue operations.โ€
