A YouTuber who made derogatory remarks about Assam’s history and traditions on social media apologized on Saturday, saying he never intended to hurt anyone.
The police have registered a case against YouTuber Abhishek Kar for posting a video on a YouTube channel that included offensive comments and misinformation. A senior police officer confirmed that an investigation is underway.
In his apology, Kar, who describes himself as a “trader, investor, and mentor” on his YouTube channel, promised to verify information in the future before sharing it publicly.
One of Kar’s recent claims, which sparked outrage, suggested that women in an Assam village possess supernatural powers to turn humans into animals. This baseless statement misrepresents Assam’s rich culture and traditions.
