A video goes viral on social media which shows students using mobile phones during ongoing Higher Secondary (HS) Final Examinations and HSLC exam in Assam. This video raising serious concerns over exam malpractice.
The video footage, allegedly from Tamulpur H.S School, shows students openly using their phones inside the examination hall without any intervention from invigilators. Several students across Assam have shared the video, claiming it reflects widespread malpractice. theTruth.india in Instagram has post the video. However, the authenticity of the video is yet to be verified, and authorities are investigating the matter.
As per Reports, several examination centers, including Bilasipara, Rupohihat, and Tamulpur, reveal instances of students caught using unfair means to score better marks in the Assamese subject exam.
Immediate Action by Assam government
In response, the Assam government has taken immediate action. The Inspector of Schools in Tamulpur has directed to submit a detailed report on the incident. Additionally, the Centre In-Charge, Principal Bibhuti Deka, has removed from his position and replaced with Circle Officer-cum-Executive Magistrate Smti Elima Kandulna to ensure fair and transparent conduct of the examinations.
The viral video has sparked concerns over the credibility of the examination process. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has released a notice stating, โIn view of a viral video showing malpractice during HSSLC/HS examination in Tamulpur H.S. School, the ASSEB has issued the following order.โ
The Notice Stating on Viral Video of cheating in Assam
โWhereas, it has come to notice that a viral video is circulating on social media platforms, showing malpractices during the ongoing HSSLC and HSLC examinations at Tamulpur H.S. School.
Whereas, to prevent further malpractices and ensure strict adherence to the examination guidelines, the Inspector of Schools, Tamulpur, is hereby directed to submit a detailed report today itself for further necessary action.
Now, therefore, in the interest of fair and transparent conduct of examinations, the Circle Officer-cum-Executive Magistrate, Tamulpur Revenue Circle, Smti Elima Kandulna (7086451869), is hereby entrusted as the Centre In-Charge of Tamulpur H.S. School in place of Sri Bibhuti Deka (7002931819), Principal Tamulpur HS, with immediate effect until further orders.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect.โ

The swift action by the government highlights its commitment to maintaining the integrity of Assamโs board examinations.
Authorities have enforced the order immediately and further actions will take based on the findings of the official report.
