A teenage girl has brutally attacked with a sharp weapon by a youth after rejecting an indecent proposal in Katigorah, Cachar. The incident took place on Tuesday (August 20) evening.
The teenage girl from Harinagar village of Katigorah near India-Bangladesh border, has been harassed by a youth Abdul Salam of same village for several days. The girl repeatedly rejects the proposal of the youth, but Salam again approached her on the road. On Tuesday, when she reject the proposal, the youth attacked her with a sharp weapon, in which she grievously injured. When, another villager attempt to protect he too assaulted by the youth.
First, she was taken to Katigorah Model Hospital but later, she was transferred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital due to critical condition.
A Case has filed against Abdul at the Katigorah Police Station, Cachar. Further Investigation is going on.
