A Missing Couple dead body recovered in Chiri River, Cachar, after 2 days
Local residents have discovered two dead bodies floating in Chiri River at Kangali basti under Sribargaon Panchayat in Lakhipur, Cachar on Monday morning. After the discovery of the dead bodies, they immediately called the police.
Upon receiving the information, the police team has rushed to the scene and alerted SDRF team for assistance. The dead body has been recovered by SDRF team.
The two dead bodies identified as missing couple Jaggu Kal and Anjana Kal labourers from the Lediacherra Tea Estate under Joupur police station, Cachar.
According to information, the couple was missing from Saturday after they went for bath in the Chiri river near Kamranga village. While bathing, Anjana Kal the wife reportedly slipped and fall into the river and swept away by strong currents. Jaggu Kal tried to save his wife but he also drowned in the river.
The SDRF team has launched a search operation but failed to find the couple. On Monday their dead body found floating in Chiri River after two days. The dead body was recovered and sent it to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
