A disturbing incident has occurred in Diphu, Assam, where a local priest raped a minor girl age 10 years.
The incident occurred in the night of Thursday, August 22. The priest went to the victim girl house to conduct ritual in Birla, Diphu. The accused identified as Khansing Rahang, age 40 years from Hamre and stayed that night at the victim house. Later night the accused went to her bedroom and allegedly raped her.
The young girl, who returned home from school and complained of severe stomach pain and ultimately she told about the distressing incident to her parents. The accused priest who committed the heinous crime tried to flee from the place but the girl’s family managed to caught him. They restrained him and handed him over to the local police. They also informed about the incident, examined the child.
The accused is admitted to the Diphu Medcal College who has been receiving treatment at Diphu Medical College. A Case has been registered as No. 25/2024 against the accused priest.
