Karimganj Health Department has sealed an illegal lab in Nilambazar, Karimganj. The lab identifies as SLR Diagnostics Center. This facility had been raising alarms for quite some time, particularly due to its lack of proper regulations and hygiene practices.
According to reports, the health care, SLR Diagnostics Center situated in South Nilambazar, Karimganj near the main road has been sealed by Karimganj Health Department, ADC and Joint Director.
This health center has been run for a long time by a person named Mokhlichur Rahman.
It was found that In this lab all types of test samples are collected in a single room, but there are no proper facilities for collecting stool and urine samples.
This raised serious concerns, especially since there were no proper facilities for collecting stool and urine samples, compromising patient safety.
Moreover, They also didn’t provide any kind of bill after the payments for the test. They also failed to provide legal document for the lab.
Given these violations, the health department, along with the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and the Joint Director, decided to seal the facility to prevent any further operations until it complies with health and safety standards.
