Gitanjali Housing Scheme In West Bengal:-
The Gitanjali Housing Scheme or Gitanjali Awas Yojana is a developmental programย run by the West Bengal State Government under which the state government has given the opportunity to the homeless to build houses.In fact, everyone dreams of owning a home.
so that is why Mamta Banerjee the West Bengal government started the scheme. Under this scheme, various activities are being carried out, including the return of land to the farmers, provision of housing for the homeless & development & related development of the North-South corridor.
In fact, the predecessor of the Gitanjali Housing Scheme is the “Amar Thikana Scheme”. In fact, the scheme was cancelled in 2014 & was replaced by the Gitanjali Housing Scheme of the West Bengal Government.
Gitanjali Housing Scheme has two major parts. one is the Housing scheme for the rural population & one is the Housing scheme for the urban population. The state government of West Bengal will build a shelter for the homeless people for the city.

Benefits of the Gitanjali Housing Scheme are as follows :-
Those who have land but do not have money to build a house under the scheme.
The West Bengal state government will provide about 5 lakh houses, under the scheme.
Those who have become homeless due to various natural disester like, floods, earthquake etc. will be able to build houses through state government subsidies.
Homeless people in the city will be able to build shelter for themselves, under the benefits of this scheme.
Under this scheme, rural people who are homeless for financial weakness, is also able to benefits of the scheme.
Eligibility Criteria for the Scheme :
Gitanjali is the name of the sscheme that gives homeless people the opportunity to stay at home. All permanent citizen of living in West Bengal are eligible for the scheme.
However, in this case, they must haveย land to build a house.
People who have become homeless due to flood or other natural calamities are also eligible for the scheme.

- Aadhaar Card
- Passport-size photo of two copy
- Voter Id
- Income Certificate
- Bank Account details.
Gitanjali Scheme Registration 2023 :
If you are eligible for the scheme, you can apply online for the benefits of the scheme.
There was no official portal for applyingonline but if government provides Online Registration then formย you have selected to Gitanjali Awas Yojana and press the registration.
After that a form will come, you are required to fill this form
You need to attach the necessary documents & submit
The housing money received under the gitanjali scheme, will go directly to the bank account.
