Today, August 1, a fire broke out at Ayushkalp Hospital in Boko, Assam, in the morning. No casualties were reported, thanks to a swift and effective emergency response
The Ayushkalp Hospital ‘s owner, Dr. Nayan Bharali, said the fire caused by an electrical short circuit in a switchboard in the changing room on the second floor.
The fire then began to spread. However, the hospital staff quickly evacuated the patients to the ground floor. With the help of State Fire & Emergency services department, they put out fire promptly.
Dr. Bharali stressed that patient safety, including newborns, was the first priority. The staff and nurses played an important role as they worked together to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading.
A hospital employee describes the situation of the hospital. They saw smoke coming from the second floor and discovered the fire in the changing room. By discovering the fire, they immediately called the fire brigade and emergency service. They also used dry powder to control the flames of the fire.
The hospital owner Dr. Bharali said that minimal damage, with only a cupboard being affected. The surgeries scheduled for the day have been postponed for safety.
