A report emerged on Thursday, July 25, an elderly woman aged 76-years old died of Japanese Encephalitis in Nagaon, Assam.
The name of the elderly woman, identified as Madhabi Bezbaruah. She was a resident of Bejar Gaon in Nagaon district of Assam.
She had been admitted at the GNRC in Guwahati, Assam and undergoing treatment for the past week. Despite returning to her home after treatment, she passed away at her residence, according to reports.
Earlier this month another person has died due to Japanese Encephalitis. The person was a budding singer from Hanhpani village near Dergaon, Golaghat, Rakesh Raag.
Earlier on April 1 this year 22 people have admitted in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Assam (GMCH) with the of Japanese Encephalitis disease infection. Among the infection people 5 patients have succumbed, including elderly and children.
