Cachar Police arrested the husband who fled from the scene after cutting his wife in Dholai within 24 hours on Friday night. The husband identified as Rafiquddin of Jamalpur Forest Village under the jurisdiction of Dholai Police Station, Cachar. The victim wife is in critical condition and going under treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital under ventilation.
According to information, Raffiq Uddin attack his wife due to suspect of external affairs. On Thursday, night an argument broke out between Raffiq Uddin and his, in which he attacked her with a sharp weapon and cut her two hands. After the incident he fled from the scene.
In the attack the wife left critically injured and made her one eye blind including cutting of her hand. The neighbour take her immediately at Silchar Medical College and Hospital but due critical condition the doctor send her to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
Wife Brother filed an FIR against the accused at Dholai Police Station. Police launched an investigation in the area of Dholai and arrested him from Lokhnathpur area of Dholai, Cachar, Assam.
The victim wife married Raffiquddin 6 years ago and they had three children. Victim’s paternal home is in Rajnagar village, under Rajnagar Gram Panchayat, in the Dholai police station area. Shortly after married Raffiquddin began working in Bangalore. During this period, his frequently absence led to increased suspicions of infidelity, which caused him to accused her wife of having external affairs. This suspect leads to frequent quarrel among them.
When he came home he abused the victim due to suspect of cheating. Unable to endure her husband’s abuse, victim left their home and went back to her parents. About six months ago, they reached a settlement through mediation, and victim returned to live with her husband. However, according to Ruby’s maternal uncle, after Ruby returned, Rafiquddin went back to Bangalore and again started quarreled, accusing her of infidelity. He physically assaulted her.
