A henious crime has shocked Bengaluru, where a 26 years old woman body was found into 30 pieces inside a fridge of an apartment in Vyalikaval. The incident came into fore after foul smell drew attention of neighbours.
On 21 September, the body was discovered by the owner of the victim house, who entered the house to find foul smell that had been spreading through the neigbours for two days. After that landlord call the police.
The woman has been identified as Mahalakshmi, the wife of Hemant Das, who lived alone in the flat in Bengaluru. The police recovered the body into 30 pieces from a fridge.
The neighbours were getting the bad smell for two days and thought that smell was coming from the house because of rotten food.
They informed the landlord of the flat Jayaram who lives in the same building, after the smell become unbearable, reported The Indian Express.
The flat was locked from the outside. Despite the strong smell, the landlord went inside and opened the fridge, where he found dried blood and the dismembered body. He then called the police.
Additional Commissioner of Police (West Zone) N Satheesh Kumar said, “A woman’s body was found chopped into pieces and stored in a fridge at a house within the Vyalikaval police station limits. It appeared to have been done 4-5 days ago. The body has been identified. The probe is going on. We will give more information after the investigation. She was settled in Karnataka but is originally from another state.”
A Dog squad and finger print team were called to the crime scene as a part of ongoing investigation.
Earlier Bengaluru murder like incident took place in Delhi
It has been also been found that her husband lives separately with their daughter. The victim had moved to the flat five month ago after problems at home with Hemant Das. The murder incident again reminds us the Shraddha Wallker murder that took place on May 18, 2022 by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla in Delhi. The accused Aftab, cut the body of her into 35 pieces and stored into refrigerator before gradually disposing of them through out the city over several days.
