Assam Special task force of Assam Police arrested two drug peddler and seized Rs 5.5 Crore worth heroin in Guwahati, senior police said.
The Inspector General of Police (STF) Partha Sarathi Mahanta said that, based on inputs a raid has been conducted near Chandmari flyover under Chandmari Police Station by STF Assam on Thursday night in Guwahati, and arrested two drug peddler along with scooty.
Police seized 10 soap cases containing 691 grams of heroin along with two mobile phone.
Sarathi Mahanta said, “During the search, the STF team recovered and seized 10 numbers of soap boxes containing heroin having a weight of 691 grams and two mobile phones in possession from them. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated at around Rs 5.5 crore,”.
The arrested drug peddler identified as Sandeep Singh (34) and Manoj Deka (37).
Futher investigation is going on in the case.
