A cloudburst in Jadon village, part of the Kandaghat sub division in Solan, has caused havoc. The sudden release of rainwater resulted in two houses and a cowshed being washed away. The Chief Minister told the people in charge of each district that the teams taking care of things and helping others should be ready all the time, 24 hours a day.

Shimla, the state capital has faced landslides that damaged vehicles and disrupted essential supplies. Landslides blocked roads near Dudhli and St. Edwards School, causing disruptions in transportation.
Ongoing Monsoon Impact
Since the start of the monsoon season, Himachal Pradesh has suffered significant losses and reported 257 deaths from rain-related incidents and road accidents.
Significant loses and impact
Himachal Pradesh has faced the worst consequences of the recent floods and landslides. Officials revealed an astonishing loss of โน7,020.28 crore due to the powerful impact of the monsoon season.The monsoon began on June 24 in Himachal Pradesh and the toll on human lives has been heartbreaking. Among the 257 lives lost 66 were due to landslides and flash floods, while 191 were due to road accidents and other reasons. Additionally 32 individuals are missing, and 290 have been injured.
Around 1,376 houses have suffered damage, and 7,935 houses have been partially affected by the disasters.
Approximately 270 shops and 2,727 cow sheds have been damaged during the monsoon.
The state has experienced a series of 90 landslides and 55 flash flood incidents showcasing the relentless force of nature. As a result, almost 450 roads including 2 National Highways, remain closed.
A total of 1,814 electricity supply schemes are still affected, and 59 water supply schemes remain disrupted, affecting communities across the state.
Weather Forecast and Alerts
The forecast predicts heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning until August 17, with a wet spell expected to continue until August 19. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for eight districts in Himachal Pradesh.

A separate tragedy unfolded in Uttarakhand as a landslide buried a vehicle in the Rudraprayag district, leading to the loss of five lives. The Kedarnathgya highway suffered a collapse due to falling debris and boulders, causing the vehicular entrapment.
